Barber of Seville Theater Tickets

The Barber of Seville is a show that brings together opera and comedy. The head of the production is Tony and Olivier Award-winning director Rob Ashford. He is joined by conductor Michele Mariotti, set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Catherine Zuber and chorus master Michael Black to create an opera that intrigues audiences. If you’re a fan of the opera, you won’t want to miss your chance to pick up your Barber of Seville tickets.

This comedic opera was first performed in 1816 and was based on a famous play by Pierre de Beaumarchais and composer Giovanni Paisiello. In 1825, the show became the first opera to ever be sung in Italian in New York City. The Barber of Seville also inspired many interpretations, including versions by Robin Williams and Bugs Bunny.

When seeing this opera, you’ll follow a young Count Almaviva, who falls in love with a girl named Rosina. In order to get to her, however, he must hire Figaro, a figure known as the jack-of-all-trades barber. The pair works together to help free Rosina from the greedy Dr. Bartolo, who keeps the woman locked up in his house because he has made plans to marry her himself. Their attempts to free Rosina are just as comedically pleasing as they are exciting.
